Our German supplier SGF offers a wide range of flexible, temperature-resistant products for torque transmission and vibration absorption. SGF is the market leader for torque transmission and have 60 years of experience in cord and bonding technology.
SGF Couplings are compact, maintenance free, innovative and cover torque requirements up to 400.000 Nm. Application areas can be found from marine, mining, power generation, agricultural machineries and other mobile drives and equipments.
The new SGFlex-3F Series coupling system incorporates industry proven SGFlex couplings with solid steel flanges or flywheel combinations to provide an integrated solution to our customers.
SGF flexible couplings are torsional flexible, non-shiftable couplings. They are used to compensate radial, axial or angular displacements of rotating components (e.g. shafts), to dampen vibrations in the drivetrain and to minimize torque peaks.
The flexible drive shaft SGFlex-3FD-CONNECT is characterized by its design and versatility. It combines the advantages of drive shafts with the advantages of flexible couplings, thus providing a vibration-damping alternative to drive shafts with universal joints.
The “D” in the product name designates the first type from the new series, and is available in six standard sizes. Integrated into the shaft are the forged flange from the SGFlex-3F series which has proven itself in the industry, paired
with matching intermediary shafts and the new patented centering system SGFlex-3F-ALIGN.
This centering system ensures smooth operation even at high rotational speeds and allows assembly to take place without having to shift the drive and driven units. These maintenance-free cardan shafts can easily bridge large shaft gaps. At the same time, aggregates are protected via the reduction of oscillations and vibrations thanks to the proven Tenpu® fiber technology.
This shaft system can also be operated at a zero-degree bending angle, which is usually not possible in designs with equal velocity or universal joints.
The basic coupling of the “modular link coupling” type comes in several versions and torque increments, with the individual coupling module designed in such a way that it is possible to interconnect several couplings with little effort. This permits the use of the coupling as an individual solution, as a serial connection of several couplings or as a parallel connection of several couplings. The individual coupling itself can transfer very high torques by being assembled in a double array link coupling and lends itself as an economical solution for many applications due to its simple construction. If particularly low torsion stiffnesses need to be achieved, several couplings can be operated in series. If higher torques are to be transferred with the same outer diameter, several individual couplings can be arranged in parallel connection one after the other.
The new SGFlex-LC coupling system covers the torque range between our SGFlex-3F and TENBEX-ECO coupling systems. The SGFlex link assemblies inside the coupling work with seperate link elements which are made of vulcanised-in cord inlays with Tenpu® fiber technology. The single link elements are mounted to a robust and highly durable link assembly in order to ensure a reliable torque transmission. The flex coupling system SGFlex-LC is a torsional flexible, non-shiftable coupling. It is used to compensate radial, axial or angular displacements of rotating components, to dampen vibrations in the drive train and to minimize torque peaks.
